Helping young people build structure, support, and a stronger way forward.

Our Creative & Skill-Building Programs

Special Programs

Creativity and Discipline Through Practice

At Project Me Foundation Inc., growth is something participants practice, not just something they hear about.

Our Special Programs extend the Project Me Pathway by giving participants hands-on ways to apply what they are learning across UPLIFT → BUILD → EVOLVE.

Access grows as participants show consistency and responsibility, along with readiness for more opportunity.

All programming aligns with evidence-informed practices supported by the Office of Juvenile Justice and Delinquency Prevention, the U.S. Department of Justice, and the New York State Office of Children and Family Services.

Access & Progression Model

Participants can be introduced to Special Programs in each phase, but full access is earned in EVOLVE.

UPLIFT (Exposure)

A first look at new interests, with enough structure to see what catches a participant’s attention and where they may be ready to grow.

BUILD (Development)

More participation, with expectations tied to behavior and consistency as skills grow.

EVOLVE (Full Access & Opportunity)

Full access to advanced training, leadership roles, and outside opportunities when participants are ready for them.

The goal is simple: interest matters, but readiness matters too.

Discipline & Physical Development

Boxing & Mixed Martial Arts (MMA)

Athletic training across the phases helps participants practice discipline and emotional control while building respect and resilience.

Participants develop:

  • Emotional control and stress management
  • Accountability and respect for structure
  • Conflict de-escalation and non-violent responses
  • Physical conditioning and self-discipline

EVOLVE Advancement:

Competitive training and fight team placement, along with sanctioned competition opportunities, are reserved for participants who demonstrate consistent discipline, readiness, and accountability.

The model helps participants practice responsibility and earn greater access over time.

Creative & Technical Development

Music Production

Training in songwriting and recording, with sound engineering used to develop both creative expression and technical skill.

The work starts with interests participants already have, then turns those interests into skills they can use in school, work, and creative spaces.

UPLIFT / BUILD

Structured exposure and foundational skill-building through guided creative sessions.

EVOLVE

Full studio access and advanced production training through project-based work connected to creative industries.

Media Production

Instruction in video production and photography, with editing and digital storytelling built into the process.

Participants learn marketable skills in a space many already care about, turning interest into a possible professional direction.

UPLIFT / BUILD

Introductory exposure and guided technical development.

EVOLVE

Full access to equipment and independent project development, with portfolio-building connected to future work or training.

Journalism & Youth Media

Programs focused on writing and research, then using interviewing and storytelling to turn ideas into clear communication.

This work builds communication and critical thinking, along with media literacy skills that matter in school, work, and community life.

UPLIFT / BUILD

Foundational communication skills and structured exercises.

EVOLVE

Full participation in content creation and publication opportunities, including community storytelling projects.

How These Programs Function

All Special Programs are guided by trauma-informed support and participant strengths, with clear expectations built into the work.

These are not drop-in activities. They are earned spaces where participants are expected to:

  • Demonstrate consistency
  • Meet behavioral and performance expectations
  • Apply learned skills outside the classroom or workshop

Each program includes:

  • Mentorship and coaching
  • Structured supervision
  • Skill progression tracking
  • Clear advancement criteria

The Purpose

The purpose is to:

  • Give young people a positive place to put their energy
  • Help participants practice discipline through hands-on work
  • Build confidence as skills improve
  • Connect personal interests to job-ready skills
  • Open possible routes into employment, education, and creative industries
  • Give more access and responsibility as participants show growth

This is where discipline starts opening doors.

This is where consistency leads to access.

This is where growth leads to the next level.
